About the Speaker:

Dr Neil Partrick is the editor and main contributor to "Saudi Foreign Policy: Conflict & Cooperation", published by IB Tauris in February 2016. He is a freelance writer on the Middle East and in this capacity contributes to The Economist Group's online Gulf analysis and occasionally to Oxford Analytica reports. From 2009-13 the London School of Economics published research papers by him concerning Gulf nationalism, the GCC, and Saudi-Jordanian relations. He has taught politics and history (with a Middle East focus) at the American University of Sharjah in the UAE and part-time at the Universities of Westminster and Middlesex in the UK. Neil spent five years as an editor (Middle East) at the Economist Intelligence Unit, and four years as the head of the Middle East Programme at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), both in London. He has also been a research assistant to an MP in the British Parliament. From 1993-95 he worked as an editor and analyst at Panorama, a Palestinian research centre in Jerusalem.
