Caabu briefing with El País' Ricard González about being forced to flee under the threat of arrest

Caabu would like to invite members for a briefing on Egypt's treatment of journalists with Ricard González, who was the correspondent for Spanish newspaper El País in Cairo.

In June 2015, Ricard was forced to flee the country, under threat of arrest from the Egyptian authorities. You can read more about this here. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, there is currently a record number of journalists in prison in Egypt.

Ricard will speak about his experiences as a journalist in Egypt, his treatment, and the challenges journalists face in the country.

When: Wednesday, 12 August, 16:30pm
