Stop Killing Children Protest - Syria

This is a demonstration outside the Syrian Embassy. Chris Doyle, Caabu's Director, will be one of the speakers. 

"On Friday night, 49 children and babies were killed in the town of Houla, Syria. Some died having been hit by shells, their bodies torn and smashed. I've seen pictures of this. I've also seen video footage of the bodies of other children - many of them very young, barely toddlers - who had their hands bound with blue plastic ties before they were stabbed or shot. In the words of The Guardian's correspondent Martin Chulov "Up to now, the Syrian conflict has killed 13,000 people. But until this weekend, it had yet to include the mass slaughter of nursery age infants."

Seeing organised killing of children means I can't just sit here, and must try to do something, in spite of not really knowing what to do. 

I can't find any organised public protest against what has been happening in Syria, so my partner Jim and I have decided to do something ourselves that is hopefully simple and easy enough for people to join in.

On Sunday 10 June, from noon to 2pm my children Sam and Mungo, Jim and I will be standing to protest outside the Syrian Embassy, 8 Belgrave Square SW1X 8PH. Around 50 people have so far said they'll join us.

We're not there to urge governments to 'do' something - we don't know what they should do among the options that are mooted. We will be there as a family to urge the Syrian regime to stop killing children. Just that. Stop killing children."
